Brent, PT, DPT
Education: University of Arizona, Midwestern University
Brent was born and raised in Tucson. He has always enjoyed being active and influencing others to do so themselves. His passion extends further than just diagnosing and treating. Brent truly enjoys building rapport with his patients and assures them that they not only feel better but that they have a fun time achieving their goals.
Brent earned his Bachelor of Health Science in Physiology from The University of Arizona in 2010. He went on to earn his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Midwestern University in 2014. After graduation, he moved back to Tucson to begin to treat in the outpatient orthopedic setting where he utilizes evidence-based treatment strategies.
In his free time, Brent enjoys spending time with his wife, son, and dog. He’s a diehard Arizona basketball fan, enjoys working out, playing basketball, home projects, and has recently picked up the sport of pickleball.
Lee, PT, DPT
Education: University of Arizona, Northern Arizona University
From a young age, Lee knew he would pursue a profession that focuses on helping people maximize their potential. With a deeply rooted upbringing in athletics, physical therapy was a term often thrown around by injured teammates, catching Lee’s attention and warranting further investigation. After shadowing several therapists in Tucson, it became apparent that this was the profession for him. Lee earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Arizona, followed by a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Northern Arizona University at the Phoenix Biomedical Campus. During his time in graduate school, Lee discovered his passion for running and is now training for his first marathon. He also enjoys spending time with his family, coaching football, rock climbing, cycling, and cheering on his Arizona sports teams.
Andy, PT, DPT
Education: Saint Louis University
Andy was born and raised in Phoenix. His lifelong love of physical fitness grew while rowing for Brophy College Prep’s crew team (located on Tempe Town Lake – the only body of water in the valley!). He was thrilled to then be admitted to Saint Louis University PT program. Since it was too cold to row in the Midwest at 5 A.M., Andy turned to powerlifting, as he yearned for athletic competition. He worked his way up to national-level meets, culminating in the Arnold Classic in 2019. Andy is excited to bring his love of competitive sports to the ProActive team, helping patients recover from injuries and reach their potential. He looks forward to exploring all that his new home has to offer, especially the many trails in the beautiful mountains surrounding Tucson.
Janelle, PT, DPT, CHT
Education: University of Arizona, University of Nevada - Las Vegas
Janelle is a musician who decided to become a physical therapist in order to assist others in improving their quality of life. Originally from Phoenix, she was raised by two doctors who instilled in her a love of helping people. She attended the University of Arizona where she earned a Bachelor of Music and also participated in the Pride of Arizona marching band. She continued her education and received her Doctor of Physical Therapy at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She has been working in Tucson since 2014 helping patients recover from brain injury, accidents, and strokes. Janelle has always had a love for hand therapy and was thrilled to join the ProActive Physical Therapy team. Even though she changed from Music to Physical Therapy, her love of music has stayed strong. She participates in several music groups in Tucson during the year. In her free time, she enjoys playing the horn, rollerblading, quilting, and watching hockey.
Samantha, PTA
Education: Pima Medical Institute, Southern New Hampshire University
Sam is a Tucson native. She is a 2021 graduate with an Associate degree from Pima Medical Institute and a Bachelor of Health Science from Southern New Hampshire University. Sam chose physical therapy because she enjoys helping her patients to feel better and achieve more functionality and mobility. There is a special place in her heart for treating women’s health patients and the pediatric populations. Sam has plans to get certified in sports conditioning as well as women’s health.
In her leisure time, Sam enjoys baking, painting, and gaming. You can also often find her on the beautiful trails around Tucson with her husband and dog. Sam is a self-proclaimed coffee enthusiast; she loves trying new coffee shops and her all-time favorite drink is an iced Islander latte from Dutch Bros.
Misty, PTA
Education: Pima Medical Institute
Misty originally wanted to be a nurse, but fell in love with physical therapy after shadowing in a clinic. She started her career as a tech at Foothills and is now a physical therapist assistant. She loves being there for her patients from start to finish and seeing their progress. Misty enjoys watching sports, playing with her dog, and staying active. You can find her playing co-ed soccer, hiking or working out in her spare time.
