Meet our Certified Hand Therapists (CHTs)
Mike Lee, PT, DPT, CHT, and clinic director at the ProActive Physical Therapy North clinic. As a Tucson Native, Mike attended the University of Arizona, earning a Bachelor of Science in Health Science. He received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Northern Arizona University. With over 21 years of experience, Mike specializes in shoulder, elbow, and hand rehabilitation. In addition, Mike has been awarded the prestigious Petzoldt Award for innovation in research in hand therapy.
Janelle Borg, PT, DPT, splits her time between the North and Central clinics. She became a physical therapist to assist others in improving their quality of life. Originally from Phoenix, Janelle attended the University of Arizona, where she earned a Bachelor of Music and participated in the Pride of Arizona marching band. She continued her education, receiving her Doctor of Physical Therapy at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and has worked in Tucson since 2014. She has a special interest in working with musicians.
Cyndi Valdez, PTA, splits time at three clinics—North, Central, and East. Cyndi’s interest in physical therapy developed when she received physical therapy following a softball injury. Cyndi is a native of Tucson and played college softball for the University of Arizona, and was on the National Championship team in 2007. She has also been inducted into the Flowing Wells High School sports hall of fame. Outside the clinic, she loves spending time with her husband, two children, and close friends.

ProActive has one of the most qualified and experienced hand teams in the greater Tucson area with a staff of certified hand therapists and physical therapists. Our CHTs are experts in evaluating and treating highly complex hand and upper extremity injuries and conditions. For individuals experiencing pain and loss of function in their hand, elbow, or shoulder because of recent surgery, acute injury, or chronic condition, such as arthritis, our CHTs will help guide them towards a full recovery.
