Melissa PTA
Physical Therapy Assistant
Melissa PTA
Physical Therapy AssistantI was raised in Tucson, Arizona, where I began developing a strong interest in helping others through meaningful work. My professional journey started as a medical assistant, a role that introduced me to the
healthcare field and solidified my desire to work directly with people. Later, I worked at an elementary school with special needs students, an experience that profoundly shaped my career path. While working there,
I supported a student who received therapy services, and I became fascinated by the progress she made through physical therapy.
Witnessing the positive impact therapy had on her daily life inspired me to pursue a career in rehabilitation.
Motivated by this experience, I enrolled at Pima Medical Institute, where I earned an associate degree in occupational science. I later continued my professional development and obtained my license as a physical
therapist assistant. I find great fulfillment in getting to know my patients and being an active part of their rehabilitation journeys, helping them regain strength, confidence, and independence.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors camping and hiking, country line dancing, and making memories with my family. These activities help keep me grounded and balanced, allowing me to bring
energy and compassion into both my personal life and professional practice.
