Many of us who live in Tucson welcome autumn with open arms, as we know the cooler temps, crisp leaves and fall produce is finally within reach. Here at ProActive Physical Therapy, we’re sharing 5 tips for a healthy, happy and proactive fall.
Tip #1: Take advantage of the cooler mornings. Try going for a walk through your neighborhood or a quick trail run before work. This is a great way to jumpstart your morning and set yourself up for success.
Tip #2: Stay hydrated. Even through we’re not in the heat of summer, it’s important to stay hydrated—especially if you’re doing physical activity such as trail running, walking, working out or taking part of your ProActive physical therapy program.
Tip #3: Eat produce that’s in season. Nourishing your body is important, whether you’re recovering from surgery, in the midst of your physical therapy program or looking to create healthier habits. Try stopping by a Tucson farmer’s market to get a few in-season vegetables to add to your recipes for the week.
Tip #4: Take steps to prevent flu season. Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Disinfecting, washing your hands often and staying home when sick, are also recommended.
Tip #5: Try a new outdoor activity. Depending on your exercise level, get out and try a new activity. Tucson is home to many beautiful hiking trails, biking trails, pumpkin patches and more. Embrace autumn and take part in a fun outdoor activity the entire family can enjoy.
As always, we’re here to help you enjoy your favorite fall time activities pain free. If you’re in need of physical therapy in Tucson, feel free to contact us today to set up an appointment. Cheers to a healthy and happy autumn!
